About Gelpack

Formed in 1962 in Hereford, Gelpack was formerly known as Excelsior Plastics.

1972 saw the beginning of refuse sack manufacture and a merger with Gelpack in 1988 created Gelpack Excelsior Ltd.

In the early nineties there were acqusitions of Optiplas Ltd & Plip Ltd renamed Gelpack Recycling Ltd & Gelpack Plip Ltd and in 2000 these companies merged to become Gelpack Industrial Ltd.

The acquisition of Gelplas Ltd in 2004 and merger with Gelpack Excelsior Ltd has created one of the largest privately owned flexible packaging manufacturers in the UK.

With an annual capacity in excess of 24,000 tonnes, Gelpacks primary focus is in the development and production of high performance thin gauge films and the ability to supply on very short lead times.
